Gunman creeps up on woman and takes $200 digital music player.

A 22-year-old Skokie woman was robbed at gunpoint for her $200 iPod Touch in the 9000 block of Bronx Avenue on March 30 around 9:40 p.m.

The woman told police that she was walking to a friend’s house in the 9000 block of Lavergne Avenue and listening to music when she suddenly heard “gravel being kicked up from behind her.”

Frightened, the woman began to run. Then she heard, “Hey, hey, stop! Turn around, I have a gun,” according to the report. Upon turning around, she noticed a black man, wearing all black and holding a long barreled black handgun across his chest.

When the suspect asked for her iPod, she responded, “No!” according to the report. That was when the armed assailant moved about two feet away from her. He then removed the electronic music player from her pocket and left the area.

The woman described the suspect as 16-18 years old, 5-foot-7 and having a thin build. Police are investigating the matter.
