Broadview Hair Cuttery Robbed at Gunpoint

Another hair salon was robbed yesterday, but this time in Broadview. The Hair Cuttery robbery is the latest hair salon in the Chicago area to be robbed.

A Hair Cuttery in Broadview was robbed on Wednesday morning, according to a stylist at the salon. The man entered the salon at 118 Broadview Square and displayed a black handgun before demanding cash from the register. The man then put the cash in a black backpack and fled the scene, the employee said.

"It was the same guy I saw in the news," said stylist Lisa Burke regarding the robber. "It was definitely him."

A call to the Broadview Police Department was not returned prior to publication, but Patch will update this story as more information is available.

The Broadview robbery is the latest instance of a Chicago area hair salon being targeted in recent weeks.

On Jan. 14, a man robbed a Hair Cuttery in the 8300 block of Golf Road at gunpoint. Police believe the same offender also robbed two salons in Skokie, police said. On Jan. 21, a Great Clips in Chicago also was robbed.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and filing of criminal charges.

The person is described as a white male, about 6-feet-tall, 200 to 230-pounds and being anywhere from 35 to 45-years-of-age, police said.

I'd love to read about a shopkeeper who empties a magazine into the robber before the robber shoots someone.

A Robbery in Skokie, by a man with a gun! That cannot be right, we have a law against that! What is wrong with these criminals, no respect for the LAW! I just can't imagine this happening in such a nice place, with 911 and good police. Boy, if we had some more of those gun-control laws, now that would do the trick. Those Robbers would have to obey those laws... Right?
