Calvin Johnson – AKA “Megatron” – the Detroit Lions leading wide receiver, matched an NFL record in Arlington, Texas today, catching two touchdown passes from quarterback Matthew Stafford.

He currently has eight touchdowns for the year, which ties former Minnesota wide receiver Cris Carter’s record set in 1995. Johnson is also the first wide receiver to have two touchdowns through his first four games of the season.

The current NFL record for most touchdowns in a single season is 23, set by Randy Moss in 2007 when he played for Tom Brady's New England Patriots.
