A car crashed into an apartment complex, nearly making entry into 78-year-old Adrienne Garman's kitchen on Wednesday, Feb. 27, around 8 a.m.

Adrienne Garman has been living in the 5400 block of Lincoln Avenue for 10 years. It's been mainly quiet for the 78-year-old Skokie resident, but on Wednesday morning, she awoke to a vehicle crashing into her building, nearly entering her kitchen.

Bad weather conditions caused a woman to lose control of her SUV and make contact with Garman's ground-level patio around 8 a.m. today. Garman's daughter, Reni, said neither her mother or the driver were injured.

"She was sleeping at the time - she's 78 - and she was very scared," Reni Garman said. "She was in a deep sleep and was awoken with a startle."

Thhis was not the result of gross stupidity or driving too fast for conditions. Nope. Never.

Actually, the byeline reads 'bad weather may have been the result ...' I guess it's really a SUVs-cause-global-warning story. Still glad no-one was hurt. :)
