Chicago Weather: Chill Advisory in Effect

Wind chills expected to be 20-25 below zero tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory from 6 p.m. this evening to 9 a.m, Jan. 22, for the Chicagoland region, including Lake County.

Wind chill values predicted are 20 below to 25 below through Tuesday morning.

Very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills, according to the National Weather Service.  This leads to a risk for frostbite and hypothermia.  Frostbite to exposed skin can occur in 30 minutes.

The National Weather Service advises to wear a hat and gloves if you must venture outdoors.
