Drivers Survive Serious Head on Collision

An entire block of Gross Point Road in Skokie was sealed off by police following a serious head-on collision on Tuesday around 3:23 p.m.

Fortunately for the drivers, there is a Skokie Fire Station about a block away from where the accident occurred.

Two drivers survived a serious head-on crash near the intersection of Gross Point Road and Suffield Court on Tuesday around 3:23 p.m.

According to an eye witness, a woman travelling southbound on Gross Point Road merged into oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle travelling northbound, or towards Church Street.

The accident occurred at 3:23 p.m. and ambulance and fire officials arrived within three minutes. Fortunately, there is a fire station located down the street from where the accident occurred at 9024 Gross Point Road.

It did not appear that either drivers sustained serious or life threatening injuries. No further information is available at this time. If new details come in, Skokie Patch will update.

I happened to be travelling down Gross Point Road to cover an entirely different story and saw the entire accident unfold before me. God bless nobody was seriously injured.

Also, Patch makes sure we're equipped to be a walking newsroom.

The riders seemed to have escaped harm, thank Goodness, while their carriages were made into mincemeat, yet the newspaperman on the scene declined to inform us of the horses' conditions....

Were they euthanized on the spot, or were they hauled to the Glue-man's cauldron still nickering and neighing?
