Friday Blotter: DUI Drag Racing

Frisbee dispute
Two teens playing Frisbee in the 9500 block of Monticello Avenue called police after they believe an unknown person(s) fired BB pellets at them on Nov. 2. No arrests were made and both teens were uninjured.
DUI drag racing
Police stopped a Honda Civic near the 3300 block of Dempster Street after they driver witnessed the driver travelling at a high rate of speed on Nov. 1 around 11:25p.m.
The driver, Ajchariya Thurathong, 21, of Skokie, told police that he had just drank some Filipino beer and was maybe travelling about “70 mph,” the report stated.
He had a blood alcohol content of .167, according to the report. He was cited for speeding, improper turning, driving under the influence, street racing and reckless driving. He has a court date of Nov. 26.
Deceptive practice
A Northbrook woman came into the Skokie police station to report a deceptive practice on Nov. 1. According to the report, someone known to her made several purchases with her Macy’s credit card without her permission.
Theft at Macy’s
Uriel Soria, 27, of Chicago and Bulmaro Diaz, 31, also of Chicago, were charged with retail theft on Nov. 1.
The two allegedly tried stealing about $240 worth of clothing from Macy’s in Old Orchard Mall, the report said.
Weed cookies
A mother called police to report that her 14-year-old daughter was receiving texts stating, “Weed cookies: 10 a pop,” and “Special cookies, 2 for 15,” according to the report. No arrests were made.
