Friday Blotter: 'Friends With Benefits'

Theft from auto

A car parked outside Bloomingdales in Old Orchard Mall was reported burglarized on June 21. According to the report, a purse valued at around $200 was stolen from the vehicle.

Damaged auto

A car parked in the 9000 block of Lavergne Avenue was reported vandalized on June 21. According to the report, brute force was used to smash out the driver’s side window. No items were reported missing, the report said.

Stolen purse

A woman reported her purse stolen after dinning at Panera Bread, 9611 Skokie Blvd., on June 21.

“Friends with benefits”

A man was robbed of $110 after falling asleep with someone he described as “friends with benefits” on June 24. The victim told police this is the third time his female friend has allegedly robbed him, the report said.

High-end bike stolen

A man reported his $2,000 bicycle stolen from his storage locker in the 8800 block of Niles Center Road on June 24.
