Friday Blotter: Graffiti Continues to Plague Skokie

At Skokie Patch, we update our blotter daily.

Deceptive practice

A woman came into the Skokie police station to report that more than 10 different charges, which amounted to $776.57, were made to her credit card on April 26. She told police there were a total of 16 fraudulent charges that occurred in Rockford, Northlake and Chicago. The victim added that she was in possession of her card during the entire time of the unauthorized purchases.

Hoping the police are checking sales records & security cameras at stores in the area who sell spray paint. Parents may consider keeping spray paint in their homes under lock & key. Once these kids are caught, they should be held accountable and enrolled in community service to clean up these types of messes for the next two years.

It is time for a new mayor. Period. The ship is sinking.

Furthermore, the mayor and his cronies are profiteering at the expense of good citizens of Skokie.
A thorough forensic audit must be made at Skokie Village. I am sure perhaps the Mayor is careful, intelligent and arrogant enough not break the letter of the law. Nevertheless, dereliction of mayor’s basic duties of serving and protecting his citizens should demand a public outcry to have an recall election.
