Traffic lights are not good for napping
Rashad Allan Strong, 25, of Skokie, was issued citations for improper parking on roadway, driving upon sidewalk, driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI – blood alcohol content above .08, no proof of insurance and expired driver’s license after police found him asleep in his vehicle in the center lane of eastbound Main Street at the traffic signal at McCormick Boulevard between 6 a.m. and 6:14 a.m. on Oct. 14, police stated.
When police knocked on Strong’s window and woke him up the officer ordered Strong to put the vehicle in park and roll down the window, police stated. Strong drove through the intersection, turned left onto the sidewalk of Sculpture Park, 8401 McCormick Boulevard and was attempting to make a U-turn on the sidewalk in an attempt to pull westbound on Main Street when police stopped him and ordered him to put the vehicle in park and turn it off.
Three minors arrested for drug possession
Police arrested three minors for possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia after police responded to a loitering report on the 9000 block of Ewing Avenue at 5:47 p.m. on Oct. 20. Police transported the youths to the police station, called their parents, issued citations and gave them a court date of Nov. 26 at Skokie courthouse.
Police reported a tire was slashed on a vehicle parked in the Macy’s parking garage, 4989 Old Orchard Center, sometime between 1:45 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Oct. 21, police stated.
