Here's Where To Volunteer on Day of Service

Volunteering on the National Day of Service (Saturday, Jan. 19) has become a way to celebrate and honor MLK Day. Here's where to do so in the local area.

 

 

Increasingly, organizations and individuals are spending the National Day of Service (it's Sat. Jan. 19 this year) and the Martin Luther King Day holiday in volunteerism and service to their communities, according to the Christian Science Monitor. It's a way honor to the Martin Luther King Day holiday.

Click here and here for a list of volunteer activities in the local area which could use your help. 

They range from breast cancer causes to the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center to special needs kids to community gardens and after-school programs.
