How Much Could the Sequester Impact District 65's Budget?
All federal programs, except the National School Lunch Program, could be reduced by 5 percent at Evanston/Skokie School District 65.
Evanston/Skokie School District 65 could see its budget cut by about $300,000 this year due to the sequester, or federal government budget cuts, Evanston Now reported.
All federal programs within the district, except the National School Lunch Program, will likely be reduced by 5 percent, Evanston Now reported.
The automatic budget cuts went into effect in March and could affect more than 24,263 federal employees working in Cook County, according to the latest figures from Eye on Washington, a DC-based lobbying firm that tracks federal employment.
The Huffington Post reported that the cuts amount to $1.2 trillion over the next 10 years and $85 billion for the remainder of fiscal year 2013. A dramatic reduction in spending is likely to hinder an economic recovery just taking hold.

big deal---I could cut 300 grand from the D-65 budget in my sleep---and it wouldn't come at the expense of losing one teacher or cutting any programs....dump a few overpaid and unnecessary administrative positions---problem solved
