Dozens of devoted Kerry Wood fans, paid homage to the retired Cubby during a special visit to Barnes and Noble Tuesday night. Many attendees also received a hearty handshake and a “thanks for coming out” from the Texas native.

Wood was on hand to sign his children's book, All You Can Be: Learning & Growing Through Sports, an inspirational book for children and teenagers.

“This is a positive story about ups and downs and how you can come through that and still be a success,” Wood told Patch.
