Klein Tools to Close Skokie Location

The business will transfer jobs to Texas and other locations.

Klein Tools, Inc. has announced it will close its Skokie location over the next 18 months, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. The manufacturer employs 175 people, Bruce Beebe, vice president of human resources at the company, told the Sun-Times.

Klein, which opened in Chicago in 1857, will also shutdown its Roselle location and transfer jobs from both facilities to other areas, including Texas.

“It needs to be replaced,” Beebe told the paper, “and we are building a new facility in Mansfield, Texas, that we hope will serve the company another 60 years.”
