Monday Blotter: Illegal Shopping Spree

Shopping spree w/ stolen card
A woman who reported her wallet stolen on Dec. 22 realized that more than $4,000 was charged to her account at various retail outlets, including Walmart, Kmart and a nearby gas station, police said. According to the report, the woman was dinning at Panera Bread, 5202 Old Orchard Road, prior to the theft. She added that her purse was hanging on the back of her chair while eating.
Parking rage
Police responded to a criminal damage complaint outside Nordstrom in Old Orchard Mall on Christmas Eve. According to the report, the victim’s passenger and driver’s side door were kicked in. The man told police that he parked next to a black Mercedes-Benz S-Series and when he returned he noticed both of his doors kicked in and a business card that read, “Learn how to park ass****, get a real car.”
Running buck-naked
Police were dispatched to Terminal Park in regards to a naked man running around the park on Christmas Day. According to the report, a woman was at the park with her three kids when she noticed a man take off his clothes, run around the park naked, and put his clothes back on. Police would later catch up with the alleged suspect, but learned that he had mental issues, the report said. No charges were filed, but the man was turned over to Skokie Hospital for evaluation.
Stolen iPhone
A customer reported that someone stole her iPhone 4 while she was shopping at Forever 21 at Old Orchard Mall on Dec. 30.
