UPDATE -

The new Skokie police station was recently used to film parts of a new TV series pilot titled Cooper & Stone, starring Alex Breckenridge and Vanessa Ferlito for the CW.

The producers of the show sought out the 7300 Niles Center Road police station due to its modern characteristics and proximity to Chicago.

Many areas of the new police headquarters were used during filming including the evidence technician area, locker room, interrogation rooms and the investigations area.

Skokie police operations were not effected during filming, according to a press release issued by the Village of Skokie.  Future filming will also not take place at the Skokie police headquarters.  If the pilot is picked up, parts of the Skokie Police headquarters used for filming will be remade in a studio.

New pictures have also been added. Click on the image to the upper right to see more.

If you're wondering why there are multiple trailers near the new Skokie police station, it's because the CW is shooting  a new pilot.

The new pilot, titled Cooper and Stone, is about two young female detectives on Chicago's North Side. According to deadline.com, they're "best friends, equally adept at discussing fashion, music, pop culture as they are solving homicide murders."

The pilot is being directed by John Dahl, who also worked on shows like Dexter and Californication. He's also directed The Vampire Diaries for the CW.

There hasn't been any official word on whether any of the shooting was taking place inside the new police station.

In November, multiple Hollywood stars came to town to shoot the suspense thriller Contagion.

For now, that's all the information we've got. But Skokie Patch will update once we get more details. In the meantime, click on the image to the upper right to view more pictures.

A few of the other movies shot in Skokie include Home Alone 3, Risky Business, Sixteen Candles, The Weather Man, The Breakfast Club and of course, Skokie, which was a made for TV movie.

Ha! Thanks for the heads up. I was wondering what that was over by the station. My ma-in-law lives on Chase and I'll just have to be aware of some possible blocked streets and trailers when I pick her up to go shopping.

Also from deadline.com - Vanessa Ferlito has landed the second title role opposite Alex Breckenridge in CW's pilot Cooper & Stone. The pilot, from writer/exec producer Laurie Arent and CBS TV Studios, is about Jenna Cooper (Breckenridge) and Stone (Ferlito), two smart female detectives on Chicago’s North Side who are best friends, equally adept at discussing fashion, music and pop culture as they are solving homicides. Ferlito, repped by Innovative and attorney Carlos Goodman, did stints on 24 and CSI: NY and was recently seen in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

I know George, way too much info but I'm bored!

Love it! Does the Village of Skokie get paid big money when films are shot here? What happens to the money? How does the Village use it? Thank you.
