Niles West High School’s Vaugh Monreal-Berner Qualifies for State Wrestling Tournament

Area wrestlers qualified for state at a sectional tournament in Park Ridge this past weekend.

 

Niles West High School’s Vaughn Monreal-Berner qualified for the state wrestling tournament this past weekend after placing second at the Park Ridge sectional meet, according to IHSA results.  

At 182 pounds, the Niles West High School senior will now compete at the state tournament, which will be held Feb. 14 to 16 at Assembly Hall in Champaign.  

Area wrestlers that also qualified for next weekend's state tournament at the Park Ridge sectional meet on Saturday include:  

Brandon Vamarasi, senior, Evanston Township High School; third place at 220 pounds.

Congratulations to the local grappler! May he vanquish his foes while still exhibiting the clean sports-man-ship all members of our village's athletic society have sworn to uphold.

But please, Skokie Patch, do NOT alert that dastardly podiatrist who made your front page last week. The presence of that foot-doctoring fiend and his devious Daguerreotype-ing device would be rather distasteful at such a wrest-ling match!
