The sheer amount of options open on Christmas can be underwhelming. There's no good way to search for them adequately online, as there is no comprehensive listing of which businesses are open - and what they're doing.

Well, never fear. Skokie Patch's gift to you is this handy list of the major players in town and what each has to offer - or doesn't offer - for the holidays.

We put this on top because we're all likely to need some last minute items - from gifts to red wine. Jewel will be open on Christmas Eve from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. They will be closed on Christmas day.

Zhivago

This classic Russian restaurant is open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas day. The restaurant has a variety of specials, including a European package that offers live music for $43 a person. They also have individual specials for $26 a person.

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant  
4999 Old Orchard Road / Old Orchard Mall

For Christmas Eve and Christmas: The restaurant will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Expect to see some holiday specials on the menu as well.

The restaurant is filling up, so reservations are recommended.

Curragh

Party on down with Curragh Irish Pub until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. They're closed the next day, though.

Village Inn
8050 Lincoln Ave.

Head over to Village Inn in downtown Skokie as they'll be open from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m. Christmas day. While the bar is open and pizza will be served, the kitchen will remain closed.

Basha
3445 Dempster Street

Basha will stay open until 7 or 8 p.m. on both Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Asked if champagne would be serve, the reply was a very enthusiastic: "We will serve whatever you want."

Maggiano's 
Old Orchard Mall

This Italian restaurant will be open on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. They are closed on the following day. A hostess told Skokie Patch the restaurant will be serving chef specials for the holidays.  

7-Eleven 
Any

And finally, for those that need those last minute items, all 7-Elevens in Skokie will be open all day on both Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
