The Taste of Skokie Valley came to the Doubletree hotel on Thursday evening boasting food samples from dozens of local restaurants, music, a silent auction, and more. The annual fundraiser is put on by the Skokie Chamber of Commerce.
More than 300 guests, who paid $30 in advance or $40 at the door, were able to cruise the tables of eats, trying whatever they pleased and as often as they pleased. Participating restaurants included the Skokie Club, West of Edens, Tub Tim Thai, LifeCafe, Kaufman's deli, Jameson's Charhouse and Gulliver's pizzeria.
“It’s a great opportunity for networking,” said Chamber of Commerce vice president Carolyn Anthony. “You don’t mind bidding on these things because you know it’s going to a good cause. It’s a fun, feel-good event.”
The money raised goes to help the Rotary Club of Skokie Valley and the Chamber of Commerce. You can read the full story by clicking here.
