Thursday Blotter: Five Finger Discount

Battery

Police responded to a battery complaint in the 8800 block of Ewing Avenue on June 24. According to the report, a woman got into a physical altercation with another woman who she believed was sleeping with her husband. Both woman had scratches on their body but both refused to press charges, the report said.

High-end bike stolen

A bike valued at around $1,550 was reported stolen from the 5400 block of Touhy Avenue on June 23. According to the report, the victim saw the suspect ride off on his bicycle, but was unsuccessful in chasing him down.

Deceptive practice

A woman reported that almost $300 was charged on her credit card at Swarovski Crystal in Old Orchard Mall on June 21. The victim told police she never authorized the charge, the report said.

Five finger discount

Three women allegedly selected several shoes from DSW, 9601 Skokie Blvd., and fled the store without paying. The manager said he recognized the women from a previous theft but was unable to stop them, the report said.

Stolen bike

A bike was reported stolen from the 5300 block of Golf Road on June 21.

Stolen data

A former employee at a moving company allegedly stole customer data from his employer before being released on June 20. The alleged suspect then went on to create a fake website using the company’s logo and pictures, the report said.
