Tuesday Blotter: DUI Arrest Follows One-Car Crash

Police responded to the 3700 block of Dempster Street regarding a criminal damage compliant on Aug. 31. According to the report, the front glass window of a business was shattered. No items were taken from the inside.
Police responded to a home burglary in the 4900 block of Louise Avenue on Sept. 1. According to the report, entry was somehow gained to steal $120 in cash. No other items were reported missing.
Police responded to a retail theft at Victoria’s Secret in Old Orchard Mall on Sept. 1. According to the report, a woman took more than $600 of lace panties and fled the store without paying.
Scratch marks on car
A car parked in the 5500 block of Touhy Avenue was scratched using a key or other sharp object on Sept. 2. The victim told police she had no idea who could be responsible.
About $35 worth of gasoline was stolen from a car parked in the 4900 block of Carol Avenue on Aug. 31.
DUI contributes to crash
Moira Ockrim, 49, of the 8200 block of Kedvale Avenue in Skokie, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Sept. 2. Ockrim was found near the 9500 block of LeClaire Avenue after she was involved in a roll over crash. When police arrived, they saw Ockrim being pulled out of the passenger side window of her vehicle. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Ockrim told police she was drunk and later registered a blood alcohol content level of .206. She was charged with improper lane usage, failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash and driving under the influence of alcohol. Her court date is Oct. 7.
