Craigslist scam

A man came into the Skokie police station to report a deceptive practice on Feb. 11. According to the report, the victim saw an ad on Craigslist for a vacation rental home in California. The man responded to the ad and was instructed to deposit $500 in a Bank of America account, the report said. The victim complied, but never heard back from the alleged suspect. He later learned that this was an active scam from Bank of America and that three others had also been duped, the report said.

Gone in a Flash

A Flash Taxi Cab parked in the 4900 block of Crain Avenue was reported stolen on Jan. 17.

Mary Jane

Iqbal Kabir Chorania, 22, of the 9000 block of Skokie Boulevard in Skokie, was charged with possession of cannabis on Jan. 13. According to the report, Chorania was stopped for a traffic violation in the 5200 block of Dempster Street. Police would later find more than 6 grams of marijuana inside a sandwich bag on Chorania, the report said.

Parents fight at Chuck E. Cheese

Ehigbai Odion, 31, of the 5800 block of Sheridan Road in Chicago, was charged with simple battery on Feb. 12. According to the report, Odion had gotten into an altercation about his child playing a certain game at Chuck E. Cheese in Village Crossing with another parent. While the two scuffled, no charges were filed, though.

Stolen auto

A car parked in the 9100 block of Keating Avenue was reported stolen on Feb. 14.

Residental burglary

A home in the 3300 block of Dempster Street was reported burglarized on Feb. 14. According to the report, the suspect(s) entered the residence and stole a laptop computer and $10,000 in cash and check deposits.
