Tuesday Blotter: Odd Items Stolen in Burglary
The following arrest information was supplied by the Skokie Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction. At Skokie Patch, we update our blotter daily.
A woman reported that an unknown person used her corporate credit card without her knowledge on Aug. 21.
Police responded to a burglary in the 7900 block of Karlov Avenue on Aug. 20. According to the report, a black BMX bicycle valued at around $180 was reported stolen.
Christopher McDaniel, 29, of Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Aug. 16. According to the report, McDaniel was stopped in the 9400 block of McCormick Boulevard for a traffic violation. His blood alcohol exceeded .08, the legal limit in Illinois, according to police. His court date is Sept. 13.
Police responded to an attempted burglary in the 7900 block of Karlov Avenue on Aug. 20. According to the report, the homeowner noticed that his screen door was ripped open. He also noted that someone tampered with the ground level window. No items were reported missing, though.
Burglarized storage unit
Police responded to a burglary at Public Storage, 8220 Skokie Blvd., on Aug. 21. According to the report, a toilet brush holder, DVD of the television show Scrubs and other various items were reported missing.
A man reported his bicycle stolen from the 8900 block of Ewing Avenue on Aug. 22.
A bike valued at around $700 was reported stolen from CTA Oakton Stop, 4800 Oakton St., on Aug. 22.
A bike was reported stolen outside Niles West High School on Aug. 22. The victim told police that his bike was locked, but that the lock was also missing when he returned.
