Tuesday Blotter: Stolen Budget Rental Truck

The following arrest information was supplied by the Skokie Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction. At Skokie Patch, we update our blotter daily.

 

Craigslist scam

A woman reported that she was scammed out of $600 after attempting to purchase four Bears’ tickets off Craigslist on Dec. 7. The woman was instructed to wire $600 through Western Union and that once the money was received she would receive the tickets via mail. The tickets never came, the report stated. No arrests were made.

Stolen iPad

The owner of De Carlucci’s Pizza reported his Apple iPad stolen on Dec. 8. According to the report, the man left his device underneath the pizza warmer and later realized it was missing.

Theft from auto

A $40 radio transistor and a $20 Blackhawks hat were reported stolen from a car parked in the 4800 block of Crain Street on Dec. 11.

Pink bicycle stolen

A pink bicycle, AC unit and a snow blower were reported stolen from a home in the 8600 block of Trumbull Avenue on Dec. 10.

Hanging purse

A woman dining at Corner Bakery reported her wallet stolen on Dec. 11. The victim hung her purse on the back of her chair while dinning at the restaurant, the report stated. About a $100 in cash and a worker’s Visa were taken from the bag.

Macy’s theft

A 17-year-old Skokie teen was charged with retail theft on Dec. 11. According to the report, the suspect attempted to steal various clothing valued at around $160 from Macy’s in Old Orchard Mall and leave without paying.

Budget truck stolen

A Budget rental truck was reported stolen from Budget Rent a Car, 5151 Dempster St., on Dec. 11.
