Brittany Collins, sophomore, girls basketball, Maine West – Collins recorded four straight double-doubles for the Warriors last week. She scored at least 17 points and brought down at least 11 rebounds in games against Lake Zurich, Fenwick, Maine East and Johnsburg, helping Maine West to wins in two of those contests.

Sam Stoddart, freshman, girls gymnastics, New Trier – Stoddart won the all-around competition in the CSL South Meet last week with a personal best of 36.90. Stoddart won the floor exercise with a score of 8.925 and helped New Trier to its second straight girls gymnastics title.

This guy needs to focus on one job instead of the two he now has at competing papers. Mistakes keep showing up in his work because he is too focused on his job in McHenry County.

Greg,

I see the spelling mistakes under Michael Zadlo and have e-mailed the editor to have them fixed. I can assure you that I give the same attention to detail for every article I write. It was merely a spelling error I didn't catch myself. I had spelled the name correctly in the dek, bold name and poll. 3 out of 5 is still unacceptable and I will make sure to do a more thorough review next week.

These are great student athletes who should be commended for their dedication and hard work. Did I spell that right?

Elizabeth, thank you for bringing a breath of civility to the conversation. Let me gently remind readers of our terms of service (http://northbrook.patch.com/terms) which call for exactly that: "Communities thrive when people care about each other, and as such, Patch expects all of its users to be respectful of others." Users who do not abide by our terms of service may have their accounts suspended. We'd ask that our commenters keep the focus on this community's amazing athletes, not on calling names.

All of you sound like children. As a concerned youth this was quite an entertaining read!

Congratulations to all these student athletes. I'm glad their accomplishments are being recognized.

Now I'm going to sit with my writing reference books, and make sure my writing doesn't include typos, misused ellipses (you know, dot, dot, dot) versus just a dash, and proper grammar.

Wow, how pathetic is this? An article meant to give kudos to student athletes, and the so-called adults in the room argue over their own personal issues.
