Acclaimed vocalist Linda Eder
Acclaimed contemporary vocalist Linda Eder brings her “Songbirds” show to Viper Alley, Lincolnshire for two performances on Saturday, July 28 at 6:30 and 10:30 pm. Doors open at 4:30 pm for the 6:30 pm show and at 8:45 pm for the 10:30 pm show; the restaurant opens at 5 pm.
Tickets, starting at $30, go on sale Friday, May 4 at noon and are available at www.viper-alley.com.
Eder’s intimate “Songbirds” show highlights selections from her own highly-praised albums and pays homage to favorites by legendary female song stylists such as Etta James, Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland, Patsy Cline, Whitney Houston and Lena Horne. She will also be interpreting some of the latest hits for the first time, including Adele’s Grammy-winning “Rolling in the Deep,” and “Someone Like You.”
Linda Eder’s career soared after appearing on Star Search in the 1987 season, where she won for an unprecedented 12 consecutive weeks. This TV success led to a leading role on Broadway as Lucy Harris in Jekyll & Hyde, where she was nominated for a Drama Desk Award. She launched her recording career in 1991 with her self-titled debut album and soon established a vital niche as America’s most popular and acclaimed new interpreter of pop standards and theatrical songs with such releases as “And So Much More,” “It’s No Secret Anymore,” “Christmas Stays The Same,” “Gold,” “Storybook,” “Broadway My Way” and “By Myself: The Songs of Judy Garland.” She followed up with “The Other Side of Me,” a country pop blend of contemporary music – including a song written by Eder.
In late 2010, Eder released “Soundtrack,” which adds new dimension to an eclectic mix of themes from the silver screen, and in 2010 Linda Eder and Clay Aiken covered Roy Orbison’s Crying as a duet on Clay’s new album “Tried & True.”
Her most recent release is “Now,” which reunites Eder with Broadway and pop composer Frank Wildhorn. Eder’s transcendent voice is the perfect complement to Wildhorn’s imaginative music in this album featuring 12 dynamic tracks that elevate the spirit while capturing many moods.
The concert stage remains the mainstay of Eder’s career. She has performed for sold-out crowds and at prestige venues across the country and throughout Europe.
