Auroris Dance Company Presents "Spectrum" on Jan. 24 at Niles North
The Auroris Dance Company presents "Spectrum" on January 24 through 26, in the Niles North High School Auditorium, 9800 Lawler, Skokie. Show times are 7 p.m. on January 25 and January 26. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $10 each. Reserve tickets in advance by contacting Deanna Sortino at firstname.lastname@example.org or 847.626.2129. There will be a free community performance at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 24. The dancers will be performing all different styles of dance including jazz, modern, hip-hop, tap, Broadway, ballet, and African.
Guest choreographers include Corey Nagel, Lauren Parets, Matt Pumanes, Santo Scavuzzo III, Elmo Scott, and Suavé. The company consists of 26 dancers under the guidance of Artistic Director, Deanna Sortino and Assistant Director, Jen Muisenga. Captains are seniors Paul Kim, Mary Montemayor, Sammy Schneider and junior, Zoe Hertz. Seniors are Natalia Gu, Dorianna Hoffman, Alexia Kemp, Seong Lee, Maddy Newman, and Taylor Smith-Whitehead. Juniors are Jake Orlan and Lauryn Solona Schmelzer. Sophomores are Jessica Cabael, Irene Diblich, Sivan Eliasoff, Christan Fajardo, Saadat Kaplinsky, Philip Khuu, Anna Mancia, Karl Mon, and Keena Shah. Freshmen are Alexis Benitez, Anna Hershinow, Mi Lee, Noam Ron, and Mikki Stotter.
More About Niles North High School
A public four-year high school and part of District 219, Niles North High School is the future home for students from McCracken Middle School, Old Orchard Junior High, East Prairie and Golf Middle School.
Located across the street from Old Orchard Mall and east of the Edens Expressway, Niles North High School opened its doors in 1964. In 2008, the school received an award for having the "#1 Fine Arts Program in the United States."
Known as the "Vikings," the school has a variety of interscholastic athletic programs that include basketball, cross country, gymnastics, soccer, swimming, cheerleading and softball. Some notable graduates include Erin Heatherton, a Victora Secret's fashion model, Brent Novoselsky, who played tight end for the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings and Mike Krasny, founder of CDW.
