Twice Exceptional - Parent Discussion Group

Do these thoughts sound familiar? "My gifted/2e kid is incredible and will someday change the world, but is the most frustrating/confusing/complex creature ever to walk the earth," "I have, at times, wondered why I thought I should be a parent," "One of these days my child may actually break my brain." If so, you are far from alone. Come join us for an informal discussion of twice-exceptional kids, focusing on the needs of parents. We will be sharing resources, information, and cocktail recipes (kidding...maybe). Take some time for yourself this month and leave the session knowing you're not the only parent in this very unusual boat.

Presenter

Jen Merrill is a blogger, writer, homeschooler, flutist, gifted advocate, world-class plate spinner (no, not really), and parent to a twice-exceptional son. She is also a board member of the Chicago Gifted Community Center, representing the northern suburbs. Jen is the author of If This is a GIft, Can I Send It Back?: Surviving in the Land of the Gifted and Twice-Exceptional, contributes to An Intense Life, and is almost always coherent on her own blog, Laughing at Chaos.
