DESCRIPTION:In a first for this improv and sketch comedy troupe\, Salsati
 on is producing their first poetry slam - Word Up! - with six Chicago ar
 ea poets on August 26\, 2012 at 5:30 PM at Gorilla Tango Theatre Skokie 
 7924 N. Lincoln Skokie\, IL. With two rounds\, six poets\, and one winne
 r\, this event won&rsquo\;t be your typical slam. The slam occurs during
  Skokie's annual Backlot Bash.\nThe audience will play a large role in t
 he performance as three audience members will be chosen as judges. Only 
 the best poets move onto the next round. As a special twist\, the audien
 ce will be asked to provide inspiration for the final two poets\; those 
 poets will improvise their final poems for the judges to be crowned the 
 winner. The winner of this slam will be automatically be invited to the 
 next Word Up! showcase and win a cash prize.\nWord Up! is being produced
  and directed by Ensemble Member Ramon Charriez and Creative Associate T
 imothy &ldquo\;Kimo&rdquo\; Brien. Both of these artists are accomplishe
 d slam poets in the vibrant Chicago slam poetry scene.\nProduced by Sals
