Big Bands, Yiddish Music and Choo Choo Trains Today

Here's what's up Today in Skokie for July 31.

Big bands are big for a reason, and the Michael Lerich Orchestra presents a 16-piece ensemble, plus vocalist. What's even bigger about this band? They're performing free at the Wednesdays on the Green festival in front of Skokie Library tonight at 7 p.m. If it rains, the concert will be moved inside the library. Thanks to Evanston Subaru in Skokie for sponsoring.

Or maybe you're in the mood for a little Yiddish music? Catch the performance at Skokie Club, starting at 6 p.m.

Did you know there's a Choo Choo train for all ages at Woodfield Old Orchard Mall? It runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Babies six months and under ride free; all others pay $4. Buy tickets near Picture People, just north of Macy's.
