College Planning Night For D219 Students, Parents Offered Wednesday

Plus, 9/11 remembrances, a deal on a comedy show at Skokie Theater, recycling and more. Here's what's up Today In Skokie.

  • Skokie will hold a 9/11 remembrance Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 8:58 a.m. at each of its fire stations. There will be a bell ceremony, and at 9 a.m., a moment of silence. Click here for addresses and more information.  All are welcome to attend.
  • "Funny Old Broads" is offering a special pre-Yom Kippur ticket price on its Wednesday comedy show at the Skokie Theater. Well, ladies, you are not old and not broad, but we hear your show is pretty darn funny!
  • Concerned about recycling? Landfills? Where garbage goes? On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) wants to hear your opinion in community discussions it's holding.
  • High school seniors and their parents are invited to a District 219 College Information Night at Niles North Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. Parents: they will talk about college costs, so bring pain medication.
