Skokie Starting To Enforce Vehicle Stickers

Here's your "Today in Skokie" report for Tuesday, Sept. 24.

  • Have you bought your Skokie village sticker yet? If not, hurry to village hall to get one, because police are enforcing them and you may get a ticket. The sticker is required if the vehicle is registered to a Skokie address, and if you have recently moved here, you have 60 days from your move-in date to display the sticker. Bought a new car? You have 30 days to display the sticker.
  • If a loved one is getting forgetful--very forgetful--attend a free informational class offered by Home Instead Senior Care. There's one tonight in Chicago at 7 p.m. and one at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the American Legion Civic Center, 6140 W. Dempster, Morton Grove. Besides tips on how to care for your loved one, you'll get a Virtual Dementia Tour, and experience what each day is like for your loved one.
  • If you want to learn more about the Jewish harvest festival holiday of Sukkot, visit the sukka in Skokie's Park of Civic Pride. It's on the corner of Oakton Street and Niles Center/Lincoln in downtown Skokie, near the Skokie Theater.
