Are they bouncing off the walls? As it warms up through the day, here are some suggestions for things to do and places to take them.

If your kids are getting cabin fever from staying indoors in this Arctic weather, here are some ideas for things you can do Tuesday. Temperatures will climb to about zero degrees Fahrenheit by noon--woo hoo--making it sort-of safe to go outside for short periods.

  • Public Skating at the Skokie Park District's Skatium, 10:15 a.m. – 1 p.m. (arrive at least 30 minutes early to get kids fitted with skates, if renting them)

  • For younger kids, the Skokie Park District's Exploratorium is open 9-5

  • The Skokie, Morton Grove and Niles Libraries will be open.
