What To Do With Your Kids On Tuesday

Are they bouncing off the walls? As it warms up through the day, here are some suggestions for things to do and places to take them.

If your kids are getting cabin fever from staying indoors in this Arctic weather, here are some ideas for things you can do Tuesday. Temperatures will climb to about zero degrees Fahrenheit by noon--woo hoo--making it sort-of safe to go outside for short periods.

  • Public Skating at the Skokie Park District's Skatium, 10:15 a.m. – 1 p.m. (arrive at least 30 minutes early to get kids fitted with skates, if renting them)

  • For younger kids, the Skokie Park District's Exploratorium is open 9-5

  • The Skokie, Morton Grove and Niles Libraries will be open.

  • Try this Weird Science Experiment to fascinate your kids. It's super-easy--all you have to do is heat up a cup of water.

  • Would your kids like to jump on a trampoline? Make an online reservation at Sky High Sports in Niles.

  • Jump Zone on Howard Street has inflatables galore and other things for kids to play on.

  • And of course, there's also Chuck E. Cheese's at Village Crossing.
