On Saturday, June 7, three regional contestants will compete in a
head-to-head grill-off for a spot in the “Sizzle Showdown” in New York City;
grand prizewinner to receive $10,000

It’s time to bring on the heat! As part of its nationwide “Great American
Grilling Guru” competition, Macy’s is hosting a “Sizzle Showdown” Semi-Final
event on Saturday, June 7 - for the first time ever in Chicago. Three
contestants from the Midwest will compete in a head-to-head grill-off at Macy’s
Old Orchard, which will be hosted by Steve Dolinksy, Host of the Hungry
Hound, and judged by Macy’s Culinary Council chef, Michelle Bernstein.

Five additional Semi-Final events will take place simultaneously across
the country, with six regional winners competing in the “Sizzle Showdown” in
New York City on June 28. The final competition will be judged by Macy’s
Culinary Council chefs - Johnny
Iuzzini and Todd English - to determine “America’s
Greatest Grill Guru,” who will receive a grand prize of $10,000 and a trip to
the 2015 Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks.

Macy’s “Great American Grilling Guru” competition began in mid-April,
when cooks across the country submitted their most prized grilling recipe via macys.com/culinarycouncil for a chance to compete in a Semi-Final event.

Great American Grilling Guru” is a celebration of one of America’s most
beloved cooking traditions and part of Macy’s popular “American
Icons” campaign, which launched in May to celebrate the heritage, landscape,
time-honored traditions and people that make America great. The program will
extend through July with a variety of family events inspired by America’s
favorite pastimes, fashions from beloved designers and all-star talent. For more information
