MONTES UNSUNG HEROINE AWARD.  As an annual event in observance of Women’s History Month, Cook County presents the Unsung Heroine Award to 18 women, one from each district of Cook County and one county-wide, whose contributions to their communities, families and professional endeavors have been so vital, but seldom recognized. This annual award is presented by The Cook County Commission on Women’s Issues.  The ceremony will take place at a breakfast on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the Chicago Cultural Center, Preston Bradley Hall, 78 E. Washington, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Edwards, who is from Cook County District #13, under commissioner Trina Janes.  She is being recognized for the work she does, positively influencing the lives of children through her T.
