Additionally, the Small Business Administration (SBA) continues to have Disaster Assistance Loans available to residents and businesses in Skokie who have been affected by the April 18, 2013 storm.  To begin applying for SBA funds, you will need to register directly with FEMA by submitting an application.

FEMA applications are available through Wednesday July 24, 2013 by phone and online at:

1.     http://www.DisasterAssistance.gov; or

2.     At m.fema.gov with a web-enabled mobile device (such as a smart phone); or

3.     Call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or call TTY 1-800-462-7585; or for those who use Video Relay Service (VRS) or 711, call 1-800-621-3362.  The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (local time) seven days a week until further notice by FEMA.

FEMA advises that you have the following information available when applying for assistance: social security number, daytime telephone number, current mailing address, address of damaged property, directions to the damaged home or property and private insurance information, if available.

Any information already provided to the Village is not part of the FEMA assistance application process.

The Village encourages you to take the next step and file your claim directly with FEMA and the SBA.  Only applications made directly to FEMA and SBA will be considered.
