Responsible Drug Collection/Disposal Programs in Skokie

On Saturday, April 26, 2014, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago will participate in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, a one day event.  The collection will take place at the Maine Gate House of the Water Reclamation Plant, 3500 Howard Street, Skokie from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Want to do your part for the environment, but can’t attend the one day event?  The Village of Skokie offers an expanded Drug Collection/Disposal program to prevent prescription drug abuse and preserve the environment 365 days. A white drop-off box is located in the lobby of the Skokie Police Department, 7300 Niles Center Road, for residents to dispose unwanted, unused and expired medication at anytime. This location offers 24-hour secure monitoring, collection and delivery to medical waste facilities in accordance with federal regulations. This site also accepts narcotics and other controlled substances.
