Skokie, IL, March 17, 2014 – Rob Paddor, owner of Evanston Subaru in Skokie is embarking on another long-distance bicycle fundraiser. with Ride 2 Recovery, to support injured and healing veterans. An avid supporter of Veterans and Soldiers, Paddor’s passion for the military and their families motivates him to work tirelessly on issues that improve the lives of those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Ride 2 Recovery bicycle fundraiser begins on March 22, 2014 in Houston, TX and concludes on March 29, in Fort Worth, TX. The fundraising ride will include 200+ riders on a 420-mile route, including a ceremony at Fort Hood, Texas. Riding with Paddor in the Texas Challenge will be numerous rehabilitating Soldiers on bicycles adapted to accommodate their disability. “Ride 2 Recovery provides customized bikes and recumbents to our veterans free of charge. It’s very rewarding to support this charity and ride alongside people who are benefiting from the donations we raise. The help and support I get from friends, family and customers is awe inspiring,” Paddor said.
The Ride 2 Recovery mission is to assist injured veterans and help them overcome obstacles. Cycling is an activity that helps speed up the recovery and rehabilitation process. To improve the health and wellness of injured veterans.

The Texas Challenge, ride will be Paddor’s fourth long-distant fundraising journey with Ride 2 Recovery. In September 2011, he participated in his first ride, the 530-mile, American Challenge, from New York City, in memory of the 10th anniversary of 9-11. In March 2012, he rode 400 miles in the Gulf Coast Challenge. In September 2012, the Minuteman Challenge, from Boston, was 300 miles. And last summer the Great Lakes Challenge took Paddor from Chicago to Detroit, with hundreds of other riders. With the help of many friends and the customers at Evanston Subaru in Skokie, Paddor was able to raise about $10,000 in each fundraising ride.
In addition to running one of Illinois’ largest Subaru stores, Paddor is on the Board of Directors of the USO of Illinois. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Skokie Valley Rotary Club. His Subaru dealership actively participates with and supports numerous charitable organizations in the Near North Suburbs.

Later this spring, on Sunday, June 8, 2014, Paddor’s dealership is organizing, Honor Ride Chicago, another bicycle one-day fundraiser for Ride2Recovery. The June event is expected to include over 500 riders on 3 routes, easiest-to-hardest, through Skokie, Evanston, Chicago, Wilmette, and many Northshore communities. Paddor hopes to raise another $10,000 during the Texas Challenge to benefit the rehabilitation of injured soldiers. As an incentive, he has offered to personally match all donations made, to support him, through March 31, 2014.
