Sales Start For Single-Family Homes at Floral Avenue in Skokie

Sales are now underway at Floral Avenue, a new-construction single-family home development featuring neo-traditional design near downtown Skokie. The community is being developed by Libertyville-based StreetScape Development, LLC.

Located on tree-lined Floral Avenue, near Oakton Street and Lincoln Avenue, the neighborhood offers 27 custom-tailored single-family homes in two styles: StreetScape Homes and Courtyard Homes. StreetScape Homes will face Floral Avenue, and start at $455,000. Courtyard Homes, which will be set around a courtyard at the heart of the neighborhood, start at $335,000.

Floral Avenue showcases Streetscape Development’s award-winning vision for new urbanism and high energy efficiency, which gained national attention through the developer’s SchoolStreet neighborhood project in downtown Libertyville. The developer won praise from housing luminaries including Sarah Susanka, architect and best-selling author of The Not So Big House series of books, and Sam Rashkin, chief architect of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Building Technologies Office.

Like SchoolStreet, Floral Avenue homes will feature energy-saving construction and front porches to promote neighborly living. Homebuyers can choose from a wide variety of concept plans, which can be customized to meet their lifestyle needs.

The firm’s unique custom approach to building residential communities – trademarked “How Do You Live?” –has received widespread acclaim, and continues to attract buyers looking for a one-of-a-kind home design that reflects their lifestyle, according to John McLinden, president and CEO of StreetScape Development.

“Floral Avenue is the perfect setting for this project, as more and more people are looking to live in walkable neighborhoods that cater to a more urban lifestyle. With its proximity to downtown Skokie and major public transportation, Floral Avenue presented a unique opportunity,” said McLinden.

Among the many features and amenities available to homebuyers at Floral Avenue are spacious gourmet kitchens with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances; high-quality plumbing fixtures; natural stone, porcelain or ceramic tile floors; maple cabinetry; professional landscaping; and two-car garages.

“Floral Avenue is one of the most innovative new-construction communities to hit Skokie in a long, long time. Not only is it meeting a huge demand for affordable new single-family construction; it is also ground-breaking in its energy efficiency, community design and the wide variety of options it gives buyers. We expect Floral Avenue to be a major hit,” said Anne Donnelly of @properties, exclusive sales and marketing agent for the development.

“This project brings the Skokie community just what it needs – quality, unique housing product just steps from its thriving downtown area,” said Andrew Hermann of @properties. “These homes are an excellent value, and we’re confident they will sell very quickly.”

Floral Avenue is just a few blocks from a wide variety of restaurants, unique specialty shops, grocery stores, a world-class library, numerous parks, Westfield Old Orchard Mall, and the CTA Yellow Line, which provides direct access to downtown Chicago.

The sales center for Floral Avenue is located at 8149 Lincoln Avenue in Skokie and is open by appointment only. For more information on the development, visit www.FloralAvenueSkokie.com or call (847) 867-1954.
