Skokie Police Department Participates in a Tip-A-Cop® Program

On October 12, 2013, Skokie Police Officers continued to contribute to the community by serving meals to customers at the Red Robin Restaurant, 7050 Carpenter Road in Skokie’s Village Crossing Shopping Center.

Through this fundraising event officers collected tips and then donated 100 percent of their tips to the Special Olympics.

Officers Rannochio, Krecisz, Smaller, Sergeant Wojdyla and Commander Shiel served as guest waiters at the restaurant.
This fundraiser serves as a contribution from Skokie Police Officers to the annual Special Olympics Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run, a large fundraising effort.  The Law Enforcement Torch Run is an event in which the Skokie Police Department actively participates every June.

This year, Skokie Police Personnel raised $1,591.00 in a six-hour period. All tips are tax-deductible and support sports training and competition for children and adults with disabilities.

For more information on the event please contact the Skokie Police Department at 847/982-5312.
