Taste of Skokie Valley on Thursday, June 12th

The annual Taste of Skokie Valley takes place, Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the North Shore Center for Performing Arts.   The Skokie Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Skokie Valley present the event. The fundraiser starts at 5:30pm and runs through 8:30pm.

Local popular restaurants like California Pizza Kitchen, Alexander's Breakfast & Lunch, Bar Louie Skokie, Catered By Design, Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream Skokie, Corner Bakery Café, Father & Son Italian Kitchen, Gordon Food Service Marketplace, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks in Skokie, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Pinstripes, Roka Akor, Skokie Fire Department, The Bagel Restaurant & Deli, The Curragh Irish Pub, Village Inn Pizzeria and West of Edens will offer samplings.  Event sponsor, Evanston Subaru in Skokie, is providing live music by the Michael Lerich Orchestra.

A silent auction with hundreds of items will serve fun browsing while sipping a cocktail and mingling with local business patrons.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door.  The event is being held at the North Shore Center for Performing Arts, 9501 Skokie Blvd. Skokie.  http://tasteofskokievalley.com

The Rotary Club of Skokie Valley serves Lincolnwood, Skokie, Niles and Morton Grove.

Funds raised at the Taste of Skokie help local Rotary charities like, THE ARC, A Just Harvest Soup Kitchen, Niles Township Food Pantry, American Cancer Society, USO of Illinois, Metropolitan Family Service, End Polio Now, Orchard Village, Golf Marine Park District, Summer Foundation, Building Together, DECA, Skokie NorthShore Hospital, VITA and more locally and internationally.

The Rotary meets every Tuesday at 12:15 at McCormick & Schmick's Restaurant at Old Orchard Shopping Center.   The meetings are short and productive often including a guest speaker with topics pertaining to members’ primary business or their Rotary involvement.
