The 29th annual American Craft Exposition (ACE) presented by The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) at Evanston & Glenbrook Hospitals kicked-off its highly anticipated three-day Show with a Collectors’ Hour and Preview Party on Thursday, August 22, at the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion in Evanston. Over 1,000 supporters attended this year’s event which raised over $215,000. Funds raised at ACE 2013 will directly support pioneering research at NorthShore that is already showing promising results in preventing ovarian cancer in at-risk women. Guests enjoyed gourmet appetizers, desserts and cocktails while viewing extraordinary handcrafted pieces available for purchase from the country’s leading artists.

This year, ACE featured over 160 juried artists from across the country along with an emerging artist gallery showcasing the work of the industry’s hottest upcoming talent. New achievements in jewelry, ceramics, metal, fashion wearables, glass, furniture, fiber decorative, leather, wood, mixed media and baskets were on display throughout the weekend. Guests had the opportunity to experience the artistry and expertise of the talented ACE artisans through interactive discussions and presentations throughout the show weekend. The Show also included an “ACE Runway” fashion show featuring models from local Ovarian Cancer Support Groups and ACE volunteers. This one-of-a-kind fashion event offered style and craft-lovers a glimpse into the exquisite fashion, jewelry and accessories available for purchase at ACE.
