The Village Inn in Skokie Named Top Ten Finalist for Title of North America’s Smartest Bar

Buzztime’s Smartest Bar Finals This Monday, August 26 at 8 CT

BACKSTORY:         Who says smart people don’t go to bars? The regulars at The Village Inn  in Skokie not only beg to differ, they’ll challenge you … to a game of Buzztime trivia, that is. That’s because the Skokie watering holes is one of North America’s Top Ten smartest bars and competes for the official title of Buzztime’s Smartest Bar this Monday.

To determine the Smartest Bar, Buzztime, a leading bar and restaurant entertainment platform, each year challenges its vast network of thousands of bar and restaurant customers in the US and Canada to compete head-to-head answering sports, art, history and pop culture bar trivia questions. More than 3300 bars in North America have been competing since April for the title and only 76 remain.  

With only Monday’s final competition (a one hour final, in fact) to go, The Village Inn finds itself in a great position: #9 overall. It will put its top five players’ average scores against the other finalists for the championship trophy, banner and $500 cash for winning the title. The Mezzanine Lounge in Houston, TX, the 2-time defending champion, leads the field going into the final. But The Village Inn is “in striking distance for the title,” says Buzztime.
