"I am honored and humbled to be recognized by Turning Point," Schakowsky said. "The remarkable work Turning Point does on a daily basis has become an invaluable resource to help shape policy. Programs like 'The Living Room', which help avoid costly emergency room visits show how important it is for everyone to have access to quality mental health care in a supportive and therapeutic environment. Turning Point is a real model for these types of community based services and I am proud to be recognized by them."

Additional honorees include First Bank & Trust Managing Director Jay Lytle (Evanston), Turning Point Therapist Julie Rooney and Shure, Inc. Senior Software Manager and Electrical Engineer Paul Rooney (Chicago).

"We are so pleased to be celebrating 45 years of service," said Turning Point CEO Ann Fisher Raney. "Turning Point's goal is to provide expert support to people during some of the most difficult times of their lives and the funds raised at tonight's event will help us continue to meet those needs and help us expand as well! This support will help us to continue our efforts to create an integrative health care center, where clients can access a variety of services and find support and hope. We are delighted to have shared such a wonderful evening with our colleagues and friends."

The Benefit featured a cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception, a buffet dinner, and a silent auction featuring vacation destinations, wine collections, sports packages and adventure experiences. In addition, the "Celebrating Stories of Recovery" Benefit featured a unique "Wellness Tips" video booth, where attendees offered their personal ideas of how to stay happy, healthy and resilient.
