Backlot Bash Preview

The biggest party in the North Shore is this weekend and it just so happens to be in Skokie.

The fourth annual Backlot Bash, which kicks off Friday at 6 p.m. and ends Sunday evening, is expected to see attendance in the thousands.

While the festival has tons of activities for everyone, Skokie Patch wants to highlight some of the attractions visitors can't miss.

Friday

• The festival starts off with beer, bingo, food and a carnival at 6 p.m. and ends with Tributosaurus (The band can be checked out here).

Saturday

• Registration for the Backlot Bash 5K run starts at 8 a.m. at the east entrance of the Skokie Public Library, with the actual run starting at 9:30 a.m.
• The Backlot Bash Kids Fun Run starts at 9 a.m. near the east entrance of the public library.
• A sidewalk sale will be held from 11 a.m to 10 p.m.
• Children can play on an inflatable obstacle course near Floral and Oakton Street from 12 to 5 p.m.
• Free pictures by Lasting Memories, 5120 Oakton St., will be take from 12 to 5 p.m.
• Meet radio's "THE MIX Road Crew" at the Village Hall parking lot from 12-5 p.m.
• Dunk your old teachers at the District 219 "Dunk Tank" from 2 to 6 p.m. (I'll be there…)
• Watch "Silent Movies with Live Piano" at the Skokie Theatre, 7924 N. Lincoln Ave.
• Play bingo from 5 to 10 p.m. near Oakton Street and Floral Avenue
• Watch a screening of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" at 10:30 p.m. at the Skokie Theatre. Tickets are limited, but can be purchased here.

Sunday

• Be sure to check out the Farmers Market from 7:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
• All-you-can-eat pancakes is sponsored by the Skokie Valley Rotary Club from 8 to 11 a.m.
• Check out the classic car show from 2 to 6:30 p.m. at the Village Hall parking lot.
• Children can meet the "Radio Disney Road Crew" from 4 to 5 p.m. near Oakton Street and Floral Avenue.
• Be sure to check out the Acrofabulous Circus performance from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Skokie Public Library.
