Crawford To Reopen After Water Main Break

The remainder of the work is expected to be finished by week's end.

Update: Tuesday, June 18
The village of Skokie has reported the water main break is fixed, and they are working on roadway resurfacing. One lane northbound remains closed.

Original story on June 17:
A water main break on Crawford Avenue Monday forced traffic to be rerouted.

Skokie Public Works Department crews were repairing the break, which occurred north of Main Street. The northbound lanes were closed, but were expected to reopen by the end of the day.

North bound Crawford Avenue traffic was detoured east one block to Harding Avenue at Main Street and back to Crawford Avenue at Lee Street.

Any remaining work on the road is expected to be completed by the end of the week, according to a statement the village issues.
