'Dueling Autobiographies' at the Ethical Humanist Society

The autobiography of Mark Twain and Vladimir Nabakov's Speak, Memory are some of the pieces discussed.

From the community -

Ken Novak, Adult Education co-chair, will lead an expanded Ethical Humanities discussion program, “Dueling Autobiographies” on August 21st at the Ethical Humanist Society of Chicago in Skokie.

We will listen to and contrast, for style and coverage, excerpts from The Autobiography of Mark Twain and Vladimir Nabakov’s Speak, Memory. Both authors wrote famously banned works, Huckleberry Finn for using the “n-word” and Lolita for depicting under-age sex.
