Gallery: Community Honors Carter Vo

Residents, police and village officials participated in a memorial bike ride on Sunday for the eight-year-old.

Dozens of Skokie residents and officials showed their solidarity for safe biking and the Carter Vo family Sunday during a memorial bike ride.

Skokie Police, Fire Department and Madison School Principal Chelsey Maxwell coordinated the event. Vo, an eight-year old student at Madison School, was killed on May 21 .

to encourage youth to "get back on their bikes," as well as taking donations for the Vo family. Vo's family was honored during the event.

Donations to the Vo family can be made at First Bank & Trust (8047 Skokie Blvd) or at any District 69 school office.  Checks should be made to the Carter Vo Memorial Fund.
