Good Morning, Skokie, From Your New Patch Editor

Hello Skokie Patch readers. I'm delighted to say I'll be your new Patch.com editor, now that the former editor, my friend George Slefo, has left to take a foreign correspondent position in Amman, Jordan.

I'm excited to be covering Skokie, where I've spent a great deal of time. My parents live a stone's throw from Skokie, if you count the Village Crossing parking lot. And I've been in and around Skokie for years, as a shopper, diner, commuter and visitor of friends and relatives here.

I've also been covering Niles, Morton Grove and Park Ridge for Patch.com, where I started in 2010, after many earlier years in journalism. I will continue to cover Niles and Morton Grove.

Although I feel like I know Skokie as a frequent visitor, that's different from knowing it as a journalist.

Here's where I need your help. How can I get to know Skokie better?  What out-of-the-way places should I know about? What should I go see? Where should I have lunch? Tell me the Skokie YOU know, so I can learn about all this town's facets.

Scroll down to the comments and answer, or drop me a line at pam@patch.com.

And if you see breaking news happen in Skokie, snap a photo and post it to skokie.patch.com/blogs/new AND/OR email me at pam@patch.com. You can also post news by going to the Skokie Patch home page (skokie.patch.com) and looking for the green "Start Blogging" button in the lower left. Don't let the word "blogging" throw you--on Patch, a blog can be a one-time post. It can even be a single photo.

See you around town!
