How to Sign Up For Citizens Fire Academy

The Skokie Fire Department is inviting residents to attend the 2013 session of the Citizens Fire Academy starting in April. The deadline to submit an application is March 16.

The Skokie Fire Department is inviting residents to attend the 2013 session of the Citizens Fire Academy starting in April. 

The program takes place each Tuesday, from April 2 through June 11. Each session begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 9:30 p.m. at Skokie Fire Station 17, 8157 Central Park Ave. 

Participants must be at least 18-years-of-age and live or work in Skokie. There is no charge for the program.

Some of the topics covered include fire department history, prevention/education tips, CPR, fire tactics, emergency medical services, specialty teams, fire suppression and more, according to the village.

Applications for academy are available online here. You can also visit the Fire Department Headquarters, 7424 Niles Center Road.
